INTERPRETER POLICIES

Creative Access is pleased to announce that it is now offering ASL interpretation to business and community organizations in the Philadelphia area.

  • Rates are per interpreter.  Services are contingent upon availability.  Rates are subject to change without notice.
  • There is a 2-hour minimum for each assignment.  Assignments lasting more than 2 hours will be billed in 1/2 hour increments.
  • Travel is charged at $0.34 cents per mile the interpreter travels to and from an assignment.  Parking and tolls will also be charged per interpreter.  If the distance is excessive, the client may be charged an additional $15 per hour for travel time.
  • Cancellation:  Cancellation of any assignment must be made 2 full business days in advance of service date requested, or payment of contracted hours must be honored.
  • Number of interpreters:  Our policy is to assign two (2) interpreters as a “team” for complex assignments, or assignments exceeding two hours.
  • Other types of "team" interpreters:  There are times when one Deaf and one hearing interpreter is essential in situations where effective communication with Deaf client(s) is not possible with one interpreter only. I.E. Legal and mental health settings place high demands on successful communication and may warrant the use of a Deaf/hearing team.  The need for Deaf/hearing team interpreting is assessed case by case according to IRD policy.
  • Payment Agreement:  Creative Access accepts checks only within 20 days of the invoice date.  In the event cash payment is made within 15 days, a 3% discount may be taken from the invoice total, unless a discounted rate, such as the educational rate.  Only one discount is allowed per invoice. Payments made after 30 days may be subject to an interest charge with notice.
